When the domestic market gets too small: Challenges of Europe-wide expansion strategies faced by start-ups.
In co-working spaces and offices of start-ups around Berlin, you can hear sentences like “growth before profitability” or “international expansion is key”. However, it is a long way from perception to implementation. Many founders make common mistakes, for example choosing the “wrong” market to launch their project, an inadequate company structure or the way in which they are dealing with local customers.
BlaBlaCar, the successful European ride sharing platform founded in France in 2006, is going to elucidate opportunities and risks for start-ups going international, using the example of BlaBlaCar’s expansion to Poland, Russia and Ukraine. They will share their knowledge with all interested entrepreneurs, investors and journalists and will be open for a detailed discussion.
