Webmontag Berlin #88 “How to scale your IT-Team and stay truly agile at the same time!” powered by Bonial

by   •

At #88 Webmontag Berlin we will be focussing on growth and what challenges come with it. A lot of Start-ups and companies are trying hard to develop a successful agil environment in their IT teams. But what if your team is getting bigger and bigger, the products are increasing in number and complexity. You are going to need over arching management to steer the development in the right direction and remain agil at the same time.

How does agile work when there are 5, 10 or even 50 separate teams? We will introduce one enterprise agile methodology - Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) - as well as outlining the process we used to migrate and challenges we’ve faced as we have evolved into the new methodology.

After that we’ll invite you to a get together and further discussions over some drinks. We are looking forward to welcoming you.

Dan Cripe (CTO at Bonial International Group) // Subject:  SAFe as a framework to stay agil, even if a start-up is becoming an international enterprise kind of company.

Torben Voßgröne (Team Lead and SCRUM-Master – Bonial International Group) // Subject: Introducing a new methodology like SAFe to an existing and established team – How do we get from A to B?

After that we’ll invite you to a get together and further discussions over some drinks. We are looking forward to welcoming you.

Webmontag Berlin #86 | “Tales from the PaaS Ops Frontlines″ @Delodi powered by cloudControl

by   •

Webmontag #86 is putting web developers and ops experts in focus with talks covering everything you ever wanted to know about PaaS and developing on a web application platform. Been thinking about PaaS for hosting your application? Bring it along and Tobias from cloudControl will show you some best practices for optimizing it for a PaaS environment.

cloudControl, a Platform-as-a-Service provider based in Berlin, is leading the lineup with a talk from Tobias Wilken, the CTO and co-founder of cloudControl. Tobias has been heading up operations on the platform since its beginnings in 2009. Five years of running a PaaS has given him a lot of great stories to tell about near-misses and scaling on short notice – and how he and the team solved them.

Next, Andreas Wörle and Daniel Spaude from d:evolute will talk about what using a PaaS to develop and run web applications means as compared to traditional methods.

The last slot of the evening is BYOA (Bring Your Own Apps) PaaS clinic. Have you been thinking about hosting your application on a Platform-as-a-Service? Tobias is back on stage and will look at your code – and give some best practices for how to optimize it for PaaS.

As usual, snacks, drinks, and a casual get-together will follow.

19:00 – Doors Open
19:30-20:00 – Tobias Wilken (CTO cloudControl) – “Tales from the PaaS Ops Frontlines”
20:00-20:30 – Andreas Wörle and Daniel Spaude (d:evolute) – “Developing with PaaS”
